The Faculty of Science, Institute of Physics and Astronomy, at the University of Potsdam invites applications for the following position to be filled as soon as possible:

Full Professorship (W 3)
for Experimental Physics

We are seeking an exceptional researcher with an international reputation in light–matter interaction, particularly in excited states, and charge carrier dynamics. Expertise in optoelectronics, photocatalysis, or soft matter systems is highly valued. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the CRC1636 “Elementary Processes of Light-Driven Reactions at Nanoscale Metals-, fostering an interdisciplinary physical–chemical perspective, and is encouraged to establish additional links within the institute-s research in quantum physics, functional condensed matter, or biological physics. Research involving the preparation of functional materials and devices, especially using soft matter and polymer physics methods available at the Institute of Physics and Astronomy in Potsdam, is preferred.

Applicants must have an excellent publication record and proven success in securing third-party funding. Teaching duties include the general experimental physics curriculum in the bachelor-s and master-s programs, including lectures for teacher training students, as well as more specialized classes in light–matter interaction, soft matter, or quantum phenomena, in German and English. Active supervision of students and participation in academic self-governance are expected.
